The Vice President of Operations (VP of Operations) is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of our Donated Goods and Retail (DGR) operations across Alberta. This role ensures operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and growth objectives. The VP of Operations will oversee retail store operations, donation acquisition and logistics, merchandising, warehousing, and process improvement while fostering a culture of excellence, customer service, and social impact. Reporting to the President/CEO, the VP of Operations will provide sound operations leadership with a close, positive and productive working relationship with Goodwill’s Executive.

With a keen eye and commitment to GIA’s mission and being very client-focused, this position is responsible and accountable for managing all aspects of the GIA operations including: store operations (currently 13 stores), donation centers (currently 22 DCs), and logistics (including 2 Impact Centres).

Support the development (in conjunction with the CFO and VP of Corporate Services who plays lead on this function) of the Corporate Planning Cycle and its components (e.g., Strategic Plan, Business Unit Operating Plans, Corporate Performance Measures, Financial Forecasting, Capital and Operating Budgets, and Staffing Plans where appropriate).

This role can be based in either Edmonton or Calgary.
