Job summary
A leading retail clothing and accessories store in Toronto is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Manager. You will enhance customer experiences through product knowledge and leadership support, manage store operations, and contribute to team development. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of retail experience and effective communication skills. This role encourages a passion for music and pop culture.

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a huge part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and ensure their success, and also support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.
- Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return. They’ll be impressed by your product knowledge, customer experience skills, and enthusiasm for pop culture.
- Step in and step up when needed. You’ll cover the sales floor and provide leadership support when your Manager gets pulled away.
- You’ve got the keys to the store, and you’re not afraid to use them! You’ll open and close the store, as needed.
- Work the register; you’ll process sales transactions and use your fandom knowledge to drive add-on sales using benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup. You’ll also close out the register and communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
- Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs: UPT and ADT.
- Assist with planogram changes including store layout, wall, fixture, and merchandising mix.
- Share fashion & music trend information with management and HQ partners.
- Support store security and theft prevention in collaboration with Store Management.
- Help maintain the stock room organization and keep the store tidy.
- Contribute to developing and retaining a passionate, collaborative team to run your store.
- Perform any other activities as assigned by your Store Leader.

- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
