The Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs works to provide overall management and direction to the Executive branch of the Government of the Northwest Territories. The Department is responsible for: coordinating and supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and actions in support of cross-government goals The Department is responsible for ensuring mutually respectful intergovernmental relations between the territorial government and Aboriginal, provincial, territorial and national and international governments are maintained; along with negotiating and implementing land, resources And self-government agreements that address Aboriginal rights in the Northwest Territories.

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking a compassionate, driven, and highly skilled Project Manager to lead the Family Information Liaison Unit (FILU) in supporting families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people (MMIWG2S+).

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the FILU program by providing leadership, training, supervision, and direct client support. As the primary contact for the program, you will coordinate staff, support interagency collaboration, and provide culturally safe, trauma-informed services to families across the NWT seeking information and justice for lost loved ones.

This role reports to the Director of the Gender Equity Division and plays a vital role in shaping the delivery and impact of the FILU program across the territory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision, training, and performance management to FILU staff.
• Take on a client caseload and offer direct, culturally safe support to families navigating complex systems (e.g. criminal justice, social services, healthcare).
• Act as the key liaison for government, Indigenous, and non-government partners to enhance access to information and wraparound supports for clients.
• Develop and implement individualized case plans and connect clients to necessary services and resources.
• Engage in meaningful community outreach throughout the NWT to raise awareness about FILU services and support healing.
• Maintain accurate client records and contribute to federal data reporting requirements.
• Support systemic improvements through collaborative efforts with GNWT departments and national FILU networks.

Key Qualifications:

• University degree in social work, criminology, social sciences, or related discipline, with at least one (1) year relevant case management and/or research experience; or
• College diploma in the field of social work, criminology, social sciences or related discipline with three (3) years relevant case management and/or research experience.
• One (1) year supervisory experience is required for this position.

Equivalent education we will consider:

• Degree in Business Administration or Public Administration
  

Training in conflict resolution, trauma-informed service provision, and program facilitation would be an asset.
