Job description

Velocity is seeking to hire a Warehouse Technician. Warehouse Technicians are an essential part of Velocity’s customer service-oriented supply chain. The role is pivotal in providing our customers with the product they need when they need it. The Warehouse Technician will perform basic warehouse functions, including shipping, receiving, and material handling, while always ensuring safe, accurate and timely completion of tasks. In addition, safely operate material handling equipment, including pallet jack, sit down forklift, and stand-up reach truck to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting of materials.

This is an onsite position at our warehouse facility in Holland, OH. The following shifts are available. Please note that flexibility in schedule is required for last Friday of the month to meet inventory.

• Monday-Friday 10:30am-7pm EST
• Note: ( Rotating Saturdays) once or twice a month - 8:00a-4:30p - after completion of training.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, while practicing safe work habits, to ensure the safety of self and others.
• Accurately receive, put away, pick, pack, and ship materials within the warehouse.
• Organize inventory within the warehouse by properly boxing and storing materials in their designated location.
• Record inventory movement and transactions.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability to type on a keyboard and read a computer monitor.
• Regularly lift, carry and move items up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity for sorting, labeling and handling items.
• Perform repetitive physical movements including bending, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling.
• Operate equipment or machinery as needed to support daily tasks.

Qualifications/Technical Skills:

• Forklift experience or ability to become certified is required.
• Aptitude for learning company software and ERP, NetSuite.
• Basic computer skills, data entry, and Microsoft Office experience.
• Basic math and counting skills.
• Detail oriented, flexible, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team.
• Ability to take direction and adapt to ever changing needs/demand.

Education and Experience:

• Experience in a warehousing or manufacturing facility.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a related position.
• High School Diploma or GED.
