About the Opportunity
  • Overall
    • Oversee all finance and accounting functions, including financial planning, reporting, analysis, budgeting, treasury and cash management, forecasting, risk management and compliance
    • Partner with management in developing and implementing financial strategies to support the Company’s growth objectives
    • Oversee the integration of acquired businesses into existing operations, as applicable, ensuring alignment of financial systems and processes
    • Oversee the annual budgeting process
    • Oversee and monitor the company’s financial position, banking and financing activities and banking and financial covenants
    • Assess, coach and manage the finance team
    • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including lenders and auditors
  • Financial Reporting
    • Oversee the timely issuance of financial reporting information, including financial statements and forecasts
    • Assess and streamline existing processes in respect of the preparation of financial reporting information
    • Oversee, review and improve upon the bank covenant reporting package preparation process and content
    • Responsible for the preparation and presentation of financial performance, forecasts and other analysis to management and the board of directors on a quarterly basis and as needed
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop appropriate key performance indicators ("KPIs") and reporting methodologies to monitor and drive the financial performance of the business on a segmented and consolidated basis
    • Assess, build and develop robust budgeting, financial forecasting and monitoring processes
    • Develop cash flow forecasting tools and oversee cash flow management activities
  • Risk Management and Compliance
    • Oversee the Company’s processes for identifying, assessing and managing the principal risks of the Company
    • Act as the primary contact in managing key external service provider relationships
    • Review, recommend and improve upon existing financial systems (including IT applications/infrastructure), processes and controls in order to (i) manage the principal risks of the business; and (ii) meet the operational needs of the business; and (iii) ensure sufficient documentation of such activities
    • Develop and maintain a documented system of finance/accounting policies and procedures
    • Provide oversight of tax compliance in respect of the Company and its subsidiaries
    • Coordinate with and support the Company's external auditors and ensure audit deliverables are prepared and submitted on a timely basis
About You
  • CPA designation strongly desired
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in senior financial leadership roles with oversight of Finance functions across a range of small and mid-sized organizations
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Experience overseeing the preparation and issuance of all financial reporting information, including financial statements and cash flow forecasts
  • Well-organized and effective time management skills
  • Must act with the highest ethical standards and discretion, and have sound business judgement
  • Relevant Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree
  • Willing to travel across Canada
Salary Range

$160,000 - $180,000 / year
