The School

The role is within our School of AppliedSciences and Technology. The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programming in Fine Arts Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences and Animal Health Technology. Through this programming we offer a variety of certificates, diplomas, university transfer courses, as well as a degree in computing science.

The Role

The Fine Arts Department requires a part-time sessional instructor to teach the following courses for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Fall term :

• AR1105 - Global Art I
• AR2105 Early Twentieth Century Art

Winter term :

• AR1205 - Global Art II
• AR2205 - Late Twentieth Century Art

Course descriptions are available at delivery may be online or in-person.

This part-time sessional position will commence on August 15 2025 until April 30 2026.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Masters degree in Art History. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include :

• Candidate must have college-level teaching experience and able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.
• Knowledge of Northwestern Polytechnic courses and current educational technologies are desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Highly qualified faculty who seek to continuously improve instruction and meet the need of learners.
• Willingness to work with and support the Teaching & Learning Centre.
• Student Focused.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
