Virtual Business Advisor, Business Banking Virtual Advice - Halifax, NS

Location: This position is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at 5251 Duke Street, Duke Towers. It is an in-office role. The successful candidate will work within the Virtual Business Banking team as a dedicated virtual advisor for Business Banking clients across the country. The schedule aligns with our branch hours: Monday to Friday, 10 am - 6 pm or 12 pm - 8 pm.

What you’ll be doing…

Our Business Advisors focus on customer-centric service, connecting with clients in a relatable way. As an essential part of the Canadian Banking network, your responsibilities include:

  1. Managing an assigned portfolio of high-value and/or complex small business relationships to achieve retention and other negotiated goals while meeting Scotiabank’s Service Standards.
  2. Building a strong presence in the local business community by developing relationships with Centres of Influence.
  3. Proactively engaging with new and existing clients to build ongoing relationships and provide comprehensive advice to help them succeed.
  4. Partnering with fellow advisors to foster a customer-centric environment.
What you have…

- A results-oriented attitude with a solid understanding of the business banking market, including small business products, financial statements, risk management policies, and legal/security documentation.

- Strong business development skills and knowledge of legal structures, business life cycles, competitors, and financing options.

- Good organizational skills and adaptability to a changing environment.

- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, enjoyment in meeting people, and proficiency in collaboration.

- Education in a business-related field or equivalent experience as a small business owner.

- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
