Job summary

A local farm nursery is seeking a vegetable packer in Abbotsford for permanent, full-time employment. Responsibilities include grading, packing, and harvesting vegetables and fruits, as well as maintaining a clean work area. Candidates do not need formal education, as training will be provided. This position requires being authorized to work in Canada and work must be physically completed on-site, without remote options. Salary is $17.85 per hour.

• Apply the technique of hoeing between the row.
• Clean the crops.
• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume.
• Hand harvesting vegetables.
• Pack fruits and vegetables.
• Pick row and orchard crops.
• Sort fruits and vegetables.
• Write daily basic progress reports.
• Clean work area.
• Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry.
• Examine product for quality and readiness for the market.
