Overview

What it’s like to be a Federated Underwriter

Federated Insurance Underwriters customize solutions for our commercial clients when they need insurance products. They work closely with our Commercial Insurance Specialists to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting decisions for assigned portfolios through evaluation, selection, negotiation and pricing.
• Maintain strong relationships with Commercial Insurance Specialists, ensuring timely communication via email and phone, and delivering an excellent underwriting experience.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Claims, and Risk Services departments to support pricing and risk assessment.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Min. 5+ years of Underwriting experience within Property / Casualty
• Broad knowledge of pricing models and underwriting disciplines
• Completed, or pursuing CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations
• Demonstrated strong client, CIS, and portfolio management skills
• Commercial underwriting, sales & negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building, report writing and precision, risk management, and customer service skills
