Job summary
A logistics company in Milton is seeking individuals to operate and drive trucks for transporting goods. Responsibilities include loading/unloading cargo, obtaining necessary permits, inspecting vehicles, and handling dangerous goods. Experience is not required as training will be provided. This position includes working 40 to 50 hours per week in a permanent role.
Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods.
- Obtain special permits for transport on international routes.
- Operate trucks to transport goods.
- Inspect vehicle condition and equipment.
- Perform brake adjustments.
- Conduct emergency roadside repairs.
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, post-trip inspections.
- Communicate with central dispatch.
- Record cargo information and service hours.
- Transport and handle dangerous goods.
Education

Tasks
- Load and unload goods

- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform brake adjustments
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Transport and handle dangerous goods
