Overview

Truck driver – Drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Load and unload goods. Perform pre‑trip, en route and post‑trip inspections and oversee vehicle condition. Maintain vehicle and perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Tarp cargo to ensure safety and security.

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform pre‑trip, en route and post‑trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo.

Qualifications

• Driver’s License – Class 1 or A.
• Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
• Experience an asset.
