Job Summary

Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, the OT Assistant will oversee the therapy programs and OT Aides. The Assistant will maintain department statistics, records and document on resident charts as assigned. The Assistant will assist the therapist as directed with AADL orders, equipment trials, and resident treatments. See job routine for more detailed description.

Key Accountabilities
  • Resident programming : Individual programs, Group programs, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Documentation
  • Public Relations : Communication with families, residents, stakeholders
  • Customer Service : Facilitate resident, family and volunteer interaction; Resident advocacy
  • Quality Improvement : Obtain feedback from customer and implement improvement strategies; Recommend program ideas, improvements, changes
  • Occupational Health and Safety Accountabilities : Carry out all assigned duties in compliance with applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Company policy; Follow safe work practices; Participate in required training; Use appropriate equipment and wear PPE; Report hazards
  • Privacy Accountabilities : Respect and preserve the privacy, confidentiality and security of health care and employee information; adhere to related policies
  • Resident / Family Safety Accountabilities : Carry out duties in compliance with legislation, standards and policy; Refrain from conduct that puts residents and family members at risk
