What’s The Role

Shell is seeking a Territory Manager (TM), one of the most exciting and fulfilling roles within Shell Mobility (formerly Shell Retail). As a TM, you will be part of the Mobility Sales and Operations team, managing a group of Retailers within a defined geographic territory. On average, the territory will consist of 15–25 service stations.

We are looking for a customer‑centric, passionate, and results‑driven individual who embodies Shell’s values and principles every day.

As a Territory Manager, you will be responsible for managing the relationship between Shell Canada and Retail Business Partners at the site or cluster level. You will enable the delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales, profitability, and operational excellence within the territory by coaching and counselling Retail Business Partners. You will ensure that fuel, convenience retail, and car wash strategies and tactics are executed flawlessly, ethically, and safely each day.

This role is accountable for planning and delivering the financial performance of the territory, including oversight of Shell‑owned Convenience Retail (CR) stock, car wash performance, and fuel margin, volume, and pricing at your sites. The role also ensures compliance with HSSE requirements at all locations.

This exciting position is instrumental in developing high‑potential talent within the Mobility organization. In this role, you will build strong stakeholder management and business development competencies.

In addition, this position is based in Edmonton, Alberta, and is home‑based. It may require travel to sites outside the Greater Edmonton Area, including occasional overnight stays. The role also requires flexibility and availability for emergencies outside normal working hours. We are looking for someone who can multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Accountabilities
  • Embody and support the organization’s journey towards our Goal Zero Ambition including no harm and no leaks across all our operations.
  • Review and manage site level performance, identify gaps, and implement action plans to deliver results.
  • Spend a substantial amount of time in the field for Retailer collaboration and coaching on execution of processes and programs.
  • Ensure that Retailers use the tools and processes available to help grow the business and deliver an exceptional customer journey.
  • Ensure proper execution of the Shell Customer Value Proposition (Marketing, HSSE, Loyalty and Convenience Retail) at each site including consistent delivery of the Shell Customer Commitment.
  • Lead Retailer Recruitment and Selection efforts to support the development of a robust Retailer pipeline.
  • Foster a Safety‑First Culture at site operations by coaching and counseling Retailer to follow proper HSSE protocols in day‑to‑day operations.
  • Maximize profitability by increasing year‑on‑year sales of all categories and growing higher‑margin Convenience Retail categories, leveraging Convenience Retail Inventory Ownership, and minimizing controllable costs through excellent execution of the 4Ps (Product, Price, Placement, Promotion) and customer service at all locations.
What You Bring
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full‑time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 3 years’ work experience in a Territory Manager role.
  • Must be a proactive, results‑driven professional with a proven track record of delivering strong performance and demonstrating solid commercial acumen.
  • Convenience retail experience is an important asset, including strong understanding of convenience retail operational processes with a solid level of 4P execution.
  • Ability to approach activities with a learner mindset.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and multiple parallel activities.
  • High mobility and existing driver’s license.
