Qualifications

Overview

Are you a hands-on problem solver who loves to travel and provide exceptional customer service? IPS is seeking a dynamic Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, no day will be the same. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while delivering top-notch service to our customers. You’ll be able to work alongside some of the best technicians in the industry utilizing the latest technology tools and equipment. Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Inspect, test, and maintain low, medium, and high voltage electrical power distribution equipment.
  • Partner with sales team to draft quote proposals for future work.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team and to customers.
  • Draft and finalize inspection and maintenance reports for customers in conjunction with other technicians.
  • Develop new customer interest by partnering with the sales team for onsite calls.
  • Support existing customer base by providing World Class service.
Qualifications And Competencies
  • Minimum of 5 years of low, medium, and high voltage switchgear testing, repair, and quoting.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with low and medium voltage pad mount transformers – testing, oil sampling, and component change out preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience working with protection relays.
  • NETA certification preferred.
  • Electrical journeyperson or Certified Engineering Technologist required at minimum.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work overtime when needed.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as customers require.
  • Valid driver’s license throughout employment.
