Job description

Key Duties:

• Assists patients, staff, and public, in person or by telephone by:
• Placing, directing, transferring calls using a multi-line telephone switchboard.
• Providing information and direction and facilitating arrangements for other forms of assistance.
• Monitors fire panel and initiates emergency response calls to appropriate Emergency Services and provides other notifications as required.
• Operates the internal paging system as required.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Works in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the Royal.
• Ensures a work environment that is conducive to The Royalu2019s Anti-Racism, Harassment and Discrimination Free Workplace policy.
• Other duties as required.

• Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
• Previous switchboard experience an asset.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to function independently and with confidence in stressful situations.

• English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, comprehension, reading & writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.
