The Supply Chain Specialist I, Logistics reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory/accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Follows standard work and methodologies around inventory, receiving, equipment, linen and mail.
  • Utilizes standard processes within WaveMark and PeopleSoft to maintain data integrity.
  • Applies problem solving skills to resolve noncomplex situations involving technology, customers, staff, and other supply chain personnel; consults with SC Leadership for guidance as needed.
  • Performs daily activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Assists with special projects as required.
  • Supports MDI and daily huddles.
  • Orders and delivers supplies and/or linen to user areas based on par levels; identifies stock shortages and notifies management.
  • Conducts routine audits of supplies, linen, and equipment to ensure inventory accuracy and proper usage.
  • Identifies discrepancies, expirations, shortages, or overstock; communicates findings and supports corrective actions.
  • Answers incoming calls from users identifying supply needs.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area; promotes workplace safety and proper equipment use.
  • Notifies supervisor of equipment repairs and reports safety hazards.
  • Communicates issues to supervisor and proactively addresses deficiencies (e.g., reports issues/work requests).
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with hospital personnel while protecting patient confidentiality.
  • Uses organizational resources efficiently and manages work schedules to complete tasks on time.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement efforts; participates in cost reduction and process optimization initiatives.
  • Maintains a friendly, professional demeanor and appearance; provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
  • Directs or assists patients and customers in finding their way and uses service recovery skills when needed.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and communicates effectively with diverse colleagues.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or at least two years of relevant work experience in lieu of a diploma/GED.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions; effective communication with patients, visitors and staff.
  • Computer literacy with ability to learn various programs.
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly under pressure; good organizational skills; ability to think critically.
  • Two years’ work experience in a hospital or healthcare environment; associates degree in a related field (preferred).

Physical Demands: Physical demands include lift/carry 50+ pounds, push/pull 50+ pounds, extensive walking (5+ hours per day).
