Position Overview

The Irradiation Contract Services Manager manages all matters related to isotope supply in support of API and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing for BWXT Medical Canada. This would include negotiating and managing contracts, maintaining supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery, product quality, and competitive pricing related to products and services provided to BWXT Medical from 3rd party irradiation services providers and strategic contract manufacturing and service providers. This role will work with supply chain, engineering, quality, operations and project teams to manage strategic suppliers and protect the interests of BWXT Medical.

Your Day to Day as a Supply Chain - Irradiation Contract Service Manager
  • Craft and execute innovative strategic and tactical plans to optimize our isotope and irradiation supply chain.
  • Mitigate risks by managing excess inventory, obsolescence, and developing secondary supplier options.
  • Unlock savings and boost efficiencies across all key suppliers, contracts, and our operating model.
  • Lead initiatives for outsourced assemblies and critical components, shaping the future of our supply chain.
  • Develop alternate sourcing strategies that de-risk our supply network and secure continuity.
  • Partner closely with suppliers to improve material management, shorten lead times, cut costs, and elevate service quality.
  • Champion process improvements in contract manufacturing and services that enhance customer satisfaction and accelerate supply ramp-up.
  • Drive contract administration excellence—handling revisions, schedules, warranty claims, quality disputes, and commercial resolutions with precision.
  • Lead complex negotiations on strategic supply and service agreements, collaborating across multifunctional teams to secure the best outcomes.
  • Serve as the contract liaison bridging internal teams, suppliers, and customers with professionalism and strategic insight.
  • Manage and inspire a diverse team, including both direct reports and cross-functional resources, to meet and exceed targets.
  • Ensure all activities comply with global anti-corruption laws such as CFPOA, FCPA, and equivalent regulations, maintaining the highest ethical standards.
  • Build strong relationships within internal departments and external partners to maximize supply chain effectiveness.
  • Develop comprehensive risk management plans aligned with company policies and work with Business Line Managers and Legal to balance competitiveness with risk.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Science, Engineering or Nuclear Physics, or combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience of managing 3rd party strategic partners and supplier relationships.
  • 10+ years of experience of managing all aspects of a major isotope production facility from target design to CGMP radio pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of complex manufacturing systems, component manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, testing processes.
  • Knowledge of reactor physics, high-energy proton bombardment and radiation safety (Nice to have).
  • Firsthand knowledge of reactor and cyclotron operations (Nice to have).Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel.
  • Planning and scheduling and forecasting skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Supplier & risk management skills.
  • Experience with evaluating and improving CM performance and managing that relationship to drive innovation, cost savings and quality to meet BWXT Medical goals and objectives.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON)at the start of employment is expected to be between $$89,000.00 and $$139,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
