Job description
Supply Chain Coordinator (Contract Administrator)
One (1) Regular position
Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada
Competition #22153-2025

At NB Power we are a team, committed to offering the best customer experience, ensuring energy security, and accelerating a sustainable clean energy transition. Why? Because we’re New Brunswickers too, we care about our customers and future generations, and today we are actively looking for a new member to join us.

The Mactaquac Generating Station began generating electricity in 1968. Since the 1980s, concrete portions of the hydro station have been affected by a chemical reaction called alkali-aggregate reaction. The reaction causes the concrete to swell and crack and has required substantial annual maintenance and repairs. NB Power is proposing a project to ensure the station can operate to its intended 100‑year lifespan with a modified approach to maintenance and adjusting and replacing equipment and concrete overtime.

As part of the Mactaquac Life Achievement Project, the Supply Chain Coordinator (Contract Administrator) is responsible for coordinating the end‑to‑end sourcing, procurement, and logistics activities required to support the successful execution of the mega project. Ensures timely purchasing and delivery of materials and services while maintaining alignment with project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.

Key functions include:
  • Procurement and Documentation: Manage end‑to‑end procurement activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, contract compliance, and maintaining accurate, audit‑ready documentation aligned with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordination and Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate purchase orders, deliveries, and material forecasting with construction teams and stakeholders, ensuring timely availability of resources and compliance with legal and commercial requirements.
  • Communication, Reporting, and KPI Management: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost, supplier performance, and delivery timelines; provide regular updates to stakeholders; and support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Our ideal teammate will have:
  • University degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or a Diploma in related field (those with a related diploma will require an additional two years of experience).
  • Five years of experience in contract development, contract management, procurement, or contract administration, preferably within large‑scale or mega hydro projects.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and a solid understanding of contract law and procurement regulations.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • A Supply Chain Management Certificate, or working toward one, will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in large civil refurbishment contracts is considered an asset.

An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.

We care for our team, and as a member you will have access to:
  • Health & Dental plans that provide flexible options to meet your needs.
