Location: Vernon (hybrid – 1 day work from home per week after passing a 6-month probation)

Opportunity

As a Supervisor of Administrative Services at CLBC, you are responsible for developing, organizing and supervising financial and administrative functions in alignment with established policies, procedures and legislative requirements. You will lead and support staff by clearly understanding their responsibilities and ensuring office administrative systems reflect CLBC’s Vision, Mission, and Values in everyday practice. Your work helps create a well-organized, compliant, and values-driven workplace that supports strong service delivery across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Directly supervising 1-6 administrative support staff within the office or satellite locations
  • Assigning and reviewing workload
  • Resolving work priority conflicts to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Tracking and monitoring contract expenditures and liaising with CLBC Accounts and service providers
  • Maintaining furniture and equipment inventory and arranging for disposal, maintenance, and cleaning of furniture and equipment, as well as identifying where repairs, replacements or upgrades are required
  • Ensuring Collective Agreement provisions are administered according to policy, and assisting the manager in these areas as needed
  • Participating in various committees and project teams
  • May provide confidential administrative support to the Manager and Director of Regional Operations
  • Developing training plans; conducts annual reviews and takes disciplinary action when necessary in accordance with the collective agreement and in consultation with the manager and Human Resources
  • This is a great role for an administrative professional with supervisory experience.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated applied leadership experience, including motivating and managing employees
  • Develop and implement projects and/or programs, and administer contracts and budgets
  • A proven ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and influence while supervising, directing and training staff
  • The ability to foster a team environment by holding regular administration meetings to identify and develop work processes that address specific administrative needs within the office
What you’ll bring
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education, and the completion of a Business College or a Secretarial course or five years related experience, education and/or training in clerical or administrative support
  • Experience or training in keyboarding and other standard computer applications (such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and the internet)
  • Typing speed of 50 WPM minimum
  • Supervisory experience
