A leading healthcare provider in Hamilton is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to oversee daily operations within the logistics department. The role is crucial for process improvement and problem-solving within the supply chain, requiring strong leadership and analytical skills. Candidates should possess a two-year diploma in Business or Logistics, along with substantial supervisory experience. This position offers a chance to enhance efficiency while ensuring seamless collaboration with suppliers and vendors.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides leadership and supervision of activities within the Logistics department. In addition to providing support for day-to-day operations, this position is instrumental in process improvement, analysis of logistics and shipping information, problem solving of logistics issues and is a key contact with suppliers, distributors and warehouse vendors. This position also provides support and back-up to the Manager, Logistics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two year Community College diploma in Business, Logistics, or Materials Management required.
• Professional Membership in APICS, P.Log., NIGP, SCMAO preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the whole supply chain process; from requisitioning to receiving and payment.
• Minimum 3-5 years related supervisory experience; or a combination of education and work experience.
• Excellent leadership, customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
• Demonstrated teaching and coaching skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, team building, and the ability to initiate and model positive change.
• Ability to implement change by identifying all aspects of a process to ensure that a change in one area does not detrimentally affect another.
• Excellent computer skills; able to manipulate spreadsheets, research and resolve issues from available information from systems (HEMM, 3rd Party Logistics, etc.) Data analysis to identify trends, efficiencies and process improvements.
• Personable, able to deal with multiple interruptions, high pressured environment.
• Conflict resolution skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Acts as the back-up for Manager, Logistics during absences.
• Participates in regular performance appraisals of direct report, providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Participates in the training and orientation of staff to their duties, providing ongoing direction and monitoring workflow.
• Train team members on new processes or changes in processes.
• Assigns and delegates work to the Logistics Staff.
• Reviews and analyzes reports from third party logistics, including item delivery reports, returns .
• Performs root cause analysis of third party logistics errors. .
• Identifies and resolves invoice discrepancies as they relate to receiving of products.
• Identifies and resolves errors found and communicates to appropriate people
• Instrumental in developing process flow for HLI conversion from Burlington Warehouse
• Arranges for the delivery of ‘rush’ orders and manage ‘stat’ deliveries.
• Responds to end user requests such as inquiries regarding product availability, product returns, conversions, missing product, etc.
• Manages the courier contracts, and other related delivery contracts.
• Identifies and introduces process efficiencies .
• Participates in the ongoing monitoring, coordinating and reporting of quality auditing within the department
• Makes recommendations to changes in the auditing process to accommodate system updates, new supplier requirements or changes in practice/processes.
• Analysis of audits/quality reports and developing a strategy and process for communication with Logistics team
• Collaborates as needed with Strategic Sourcing to ensure a seamless, collaborative supply chain function to serve the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
