Job Information

Located in the capitol city of the beautiful Northwest Territories, Yellowknife, surrounded by a landscape of rocks, tundra and various lakes. It sits on the Canadian Shield, on the north shore of Great Slave Lake, and about 400 km south of the Arctic Circle. The city is the traditional territory of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation and the most common Dene name for Yellowknife is Sombe K'e , which translates to "Where the money is."

Under the direction of the Manager, as the Clinical Coordinator (CC), you will be providing clinical leadership, clinical supervision and subject matter expertise to the staff on resident care, nursing practices and on the operations of Extended Care (EC) and Long-Term Care (LTC). Your clinical education and mentorship to nursing and non-nursing staff in accordance with established standards of nursing practice, required organizational practices (ROPs), Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) policies, and related facility procedures.

You will ensure that the physical, emotional, psycho-social, cultural, spiritual, educational, recreational, and day to day living needs are met, and leads the evaluation of patient experience for EC/LTC.

To be considered for this role you will need to have successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and have ten (10) years of experience with five (5) of those years being in an LTC/EC setting.
