What You Will Be Doing
The Superintendent will oversee and supervise the construction of high‑rise and/or commercial projects, providing leadership and professionalism to the site team, owners, consultants, and trades to ensure construction meets design, budget, and schedule.
Site Supervision And Construction Management
- Provide overall on‑site management and technical direction.
- Enforce company and project policies to maintain design, budget, and schedule compliance.
- Input on staffing, budgets, and division forecasting; liaise with Project Manager.
- Lead the site team and oversee all daily construction activities.
- Assist with trade selection and review scopes of work.
- Maintain MS Project schedule monthly with Project Manager.
- Tackle productivity issues and monitor employee and subcontractor performance.
- Develop and manage construction plans and subcontractor activities.
- Conduct weekly subtrade meetings with accurate minutes.
- Participate in owner and consultant meetings with Project Manager.
- Review and approve laborer timesheets and verify subtrade work.
- Ensure construction compliance with design requirements and quality standards.
- Supervise field engineering and construction activities.
- Plan and prepare schedules; purchase, track, and forecast materials.
- Provide cost‑effective solutions coordinated with Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with project construction schedules and budgets; oversee commissioning.
- Implement and monitor the project occupancy plan.
- Advise senior management, clients, and consultants on potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties.
- Report project progress to all stakeholders.
- Liaise with city officials to arrange permits and monitoring.
- Oversee filing and administrative components onsite.
- Work cohesively with the Project Manager to pursue project success.
- Pre‑plan the site team’s exit plan upon completion and report accordingly.
Health And Safety
- Act as the safety ambassador, ensuring alignment with safety culture and documentation.
- Implement the company Safety Program to create a safe work environment and adhere to safety and record‑keeping requirements.
- Complete daily summary reports, including health and safety details, employee attendance, and daily progress with relevant photos.
- Hold weekly toolbox talks with the site team.
Talent Management
- Coaching and developing direct reports and the site team.
- Conduct performance assessments and provide quarterly feedback to direct reports.
What You Will Bring
- Construction‑related university degree or equivalent technical training and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of high‑rise construction experience.
- Proven leadership ability.
- Experience leading teams on projects valued over $100 M.
- Strong knowledge of structural drawings.
- Solution‑based provider for predicted problems before they develop.
- Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and other documents.
- Knowledge of Tarion and B19 requirements and guidelines.
- Proven ability to achieve “building occupancy” with city officials.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate clearly with others.

Pay Transparency
The estimated salary range for this role is $160,000–$200,000. The posted salary range reflects the expected base pay. Actual compensation will depend on job‑related skills, experience, and qualifications. Location
Kingston, ON. Travelling to job sites is required; having a vehicle would be beneficial.
