The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following summer employment positions:
Position 1: Dumont Technical Institute – 1 FT Position
- Responsibilities: Under the direction of the DTI Program Support Manager, duties include but are not limited to: assisting with student recruitment; ordering, collecting, recording and organizing program resources; preparing monthly reports on activities conducted; and other duties as assigned.
Position 2: Gabriel Dumont Institute Training & Employment – 2 FT Positions
- Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Director of GDI T&E and/or Employment Services Manager; duties will include but not be limited to: special projects, office coverage, representation of GDI at provincial events, organizing resources; general office duties; travel throughout the province will be required and other duties as assigned.
Position 3: Gabriel Dumont Institute Culture & Heritage – 1 FT Position
- Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Métis Culture and Heritage, duties will include but not be limited to: researching, museum maintenance, material production, ordering, collecting, recording and organizing program resources, preparing monthly reports on activities conducted and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be youth aged 15–30. Ideal candidates are Métis, possess excellent public communication skills, good report writing skills, and general computer skills.
- A valid driver’s license is an asset.
- These positions are funded under the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
