Salary range: $62,464 - $80,000
Vacation: 20 days per year
Shift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day
Primary location: Multi-site/Hybrid, primary site to be determined
Union: Exempt

About the Role

The Student Placement Coordinator plays an integral role in building CASA’s reputation as a nationally recognized teaching and learning organization. Reporting the Manager of People and Culture, the Student Placement Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination and management of CASA’s Student Placement Program. Key components of this position include liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting students and preceptors throughout placement including post placement evaluation.

  • Identify and define clinical, medical and business Student Placement Program objectives in conjunction with organizational leaders and teams
  • Develop and implement required processes and procedures for the organization and its post‑secondary affiliates as well as current and future students
  • Establish clear application, interview, onboarding, evaluation and off‑boarding processes for students and residents
  • Identify available government funding to support additional placement opportunities
  • Develop and implement education and training to the organization on the processes and outcomes of the Student Placement Program
  • Build relationships with various post‑secondary institutions and maintain an up‑to‑date directory of contacts and program summaries
  • Coordinate CASA’s existing post‑secondary affiliation agreements with guidance from the Manager, People and Culture and Director, Business Operations
  • As the primary point of contact, address inquiries from students, schools and other interested parties
  • Work with clinical leadership to identify appropriate student placement supervisors
  • Serve as the primary contact for medical learners, ensuring seamless communication between the residents, physicians and support teams
  • Collaborate with clinical professional practice leads to ensure a robust evaluation of students
  • Identify students with high potential to be added to the recruitment pipeline
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field. A combination of education and experience will also be considered
  • 2 years of related experience is an asset
  • Strong training, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Experience engaging with organizational leaders and external stakeholders
  • A demonstrated ability to adapt in changing environments or situations
  • Experience working in the non‑profit sector an asset
