Job summary

As part of our team, you will assist in security monitoring, risk assessments, and documentation. Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or similar program at an accredited institution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a business-friendly language.
  • Smart, adaptable, innovative, and passionate about cyber security.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt and improve systems.
  • Ability to write clear instructions, procedures, presentations, and training materials.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Information Security activities including security monitoring procedures.
  • Document and perform processes related to security monitoring.
  • Isolate issues using Security tools and suggest methods of tuning.
  • Perform assessments identifying related risks with IT teams.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for PCI and SOC2.
  • Conduct initial investigations of escalated security events.
  • Write technical articles for internal knowledge base.
  • Execute and deliver a group project with co-op peers.

This Information Security team is responsible for delivering four key programs.

  • Security operations
  • BCP/DR
  • Audit and compliance response
  • Vendor security assessment
HERE’S HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
  • Assist experienced team members with Information Security activities including security monitoring procedures. Document and perform processes related to security monitoring.
  • Isolate issues using the suite of Security tools. Work with other staff to identify appropriate course of remediation and suggest methods of tuning systems accordingly.
  • Perform and review results from scheduled assessments identifying related risks. Work with other IT teams to identify resolution plans and follow progress to conclusion.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting activities in support of sustainment activities under PCI and SOC2 frameworks.
  • Conduct initial investigations of escalated security and network events. Assist in maintaining a library of documented response procedures. Participate in knowledge sharing with other analysts and develop efficient solutions.
  • Write technical articles for internal knowledge base.
  • Working with your co‑op peers identify, plan, execute and deliver a group project or presentation.
