Student, GIS Developer – Hybrid
The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking a Summer Student to join our dynamic Information Management and Technology (IMT) Branch. As part of the IMT team, you will contribute to managing the full lifecycle of the technology and information systems essential to the AER’s operations. Our branch oversees all aspects of Information Technology and Information Management, ensuring that the tools and processes supporting the organization remain innovative, reliable, and effective.
We are looking for a skilled GIS Specialist to join our team. This position is ideal for candidates nearing completion of a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Geographic Information Systems or a Computer Science program, with a strong desire to apply those skills within a GIS team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your education to meaningful work while continuing to develop hands‑on experience and building GIS solutions that support the AER’s mandate to ensure the efficient, safe, orderly, and environmentally responsible development of Alberta’s energy and mineral resources.
