Overview

CareRx is Canada’s leading provider of specialty pharmacy services to seniors. We serve more than 96,000 residents in over 1,600 seniors and other communities. We are a national organization with a large network of pharmacy fulfillment centres that allows us to deliver medications in a timely and cost-effective manner. We take an active role in working with our home operator partners to promote resident health, staff education, and medication system quality and efficiency.

Position Summary

CareRx is in an exciting growth phase and is seeking to hire a Student Pharmacist to join our Specialty Pharmacy team located in one of five BC locations including Burnaby (2), Kelowna, Victoria and Parksville. Pharmacy services are non-client facing, with potential to grow into Clinical Pharmacist roles to service long-term care clients directly. We offer Exam Fees and Licensing expense reimbursement, competitive wages, and potential sign-on bonus once licensed.

Role

Working under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Student Pharmacist participates in day-to-day dispensary operations and ensures safe and effective patient care standards are met for all dispensed medications while maintaining adherence to processes to support team goals (accuracy, efficiency, quality, organization) and regulatory compliance. Responsible for the execution and distribution of medications for a mix of residential care, assisted living, and independent living facilities. Compensation

20.00-$26.00 per hour

Your Day to Day
  • Data entry, updating files, pharmacy management software data quality, and support for data entry process changes requiring updates to resident profiles.
  • Complete new prescriptions, changes to medication entries, and continuation of therapy prescription entry.
  • Prepare medication and associated paperwork for delivery to patients and / or program partners.
  • Support with other activities as designated.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Current student pharmacist standing in the Province of British Columbia
  • Must be enrolled as a student with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
  • Experience with Kroll pharmacy software is an asset
