The Team

The Northern Production Insurance Team is an established group within the Production Insurance & AWP team. This team includes nine full‑time staff in management, administrative, and technical roles, working across the Cariboo and Peace regions to support BC agricultural producers. You’ll collaborate with a diverse range of colleagues from across the Business Risk Management Branch, including insurance representatives, technicians, claims staff, and management, all working together to provide risk management services that help stabilize and strengthen BC’s agriculture sector. The Role

In this role, you’ll help BC agricultural producers manage risk by supporting Program Representatives with underwriting Production Insurance policies, building strong customer relationships, and assisting with inspections, field reports, and claim recommendations. Your work ensures producers have protection against crop losses caused by severe weather or wildlife damage, helping stabilize farm operations and sustain the BC agriculture sector. Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Business; or due to graduate within 3‑4 months
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Work experience in Agriculture (direct farming, primary production, consultation)
  • Experience with the production of Grain and/or Forage crops grown in B.C.
Provisos
  • Field work is part of this role which may include travel and outdoor work in all weather conditions with the potential for wildlife overlap.
  • Valid B.C. driver’s license or equivalent.

About this Position:

There is one full‑time permanent position in Dawson Creek. This position has full‑time on‑site requirements. An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent and/or temporary vacancies. Dawson Creek is a historical and beautiful town in the northern Rockies.
