Overview

VIA Rail is modernizing its services and infrastructure as part of building the future of transportation in Canada. VIA Rail Canada Inc. is seeking Station Service Attendants/Counter Sales Agents to work at the Belleville and Cobourg Stations. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service in a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities
  • guide passengers in the station or on the platform
  • verify tickets
  • make announcements and provide information on train arrivals, departures and delays
  • assist passengers with special needs
  • perform general janitorial duties in and outside the station
  • manipulate baggage, packages or other items (e.g., sports equipment)
  • work outdoors in all climactic conditions
  • operate a motorized vehicle in narrow areas
  • load supplies aboard the train
Details
  • Work location: Belleville and Cobourg Stations
  • Schedule: variable schedule including weekends and holidays (minimum 20 hours); shifts between 4 and 10 hours; early starts as 6:30 am and late ends as 11:00 pm depending on train status; layoffs during low season
  • Salary: $26.68/h to $30.87/h
  • Training / Start date: Starting date: November 3rd, 2025
