Qualifications

  • 5+ years in an industrial environment with troubleshooting focus.
  • Strong machinery and system knowledge required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of key MPU manufacturers.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and HSE regulations.
  • Write User and Operations manuals for new equipment designs.
  • Maintain MPU specifications for manufacturers.
  • Travel expected at 50%.

What You’ll Do

As a Sr. Underground Equipment Specialist, you will provide immediate support of MPU commissioning efforts and follow-on field support when required. You will be responsible for providing a critical engineering resource that will allow other subject experts to focus on high priority R&D projects. Other duties include:

  • Provide oversight of key MPU manufacturers.
  • Position to provide leading candidate for Dyno Nobel Americas
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company Engineering and Design Standards for the manufacture of explosives and hazardous materials.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE rules, regulations, and standards
  • Ensure design and construction meets the customers’ requirements in all aspects.
  • Ensure the overall project scope of work is within budget and schedule
  • Write User and Operations manuals for new equipment designs.
  • Organize, prioritize and execute several projects simultaneously.
  • Write and maintain Dyno Nobel Americas Mobile Processing Unit (MPU) specification for use by manufacturers.
  • Directly interface with MPU manufacturers on equipment design reviews and fabrication activities.
  • Travel is expected to be 50% - the length of each trip will vary depending on the project
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or 10+ years equivalent underground working experience
  • 5+ years demonstrated skill in an industrial/manufacturing environment with emphasis on trouble shooting equipment and ancillary systems.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, are necessary as well as the ability to work closely with craft personnel, equipment vendors and manufacturers
  • Working knowledge of CAD 2-D and 3-D software
  • Familiar with various Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives
