Overview
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Business Partnerships, the Sr. Financial Analyst will support the execution of cross-functional financial planning and financial performance reporting, with a specific focus on topline, revenue, and GTM costs. The role specializes in Topline (from Bookings to Annual Recurring Revenue) and GAAP Gross Margin (from Revenue to GTM Costs). The role requires a high level of technical aptitude, designing and implementing advanced financial models, converting large data volumes into tools tailored for executive decision making. Significant experience with BI tools, FP&A systems, and advanced Excel functionality (Power Pivot, Power Query) is a strict requirement. The role involves analytical, data mining, data modeling, and data management skills to drive strategic business directions, with a proven track record of achieving outstanding business outcomes through financial modelling and business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
- Support execution of financial planning, including:
- Develop financial tools to enable setting Topline (New Revenue, Churn) and Cost Efficiency targets (Sales efficiency)
- Develop financial tools to enable capacity planning to validate the resource levels needed in GTM functions in the future
- Scenario planning, understanding the impact on the Long-Range Plan from different outcomes and creating upside and downside financial projections
- Enable planning across different time horizons (quarterly, annual, multi-year)
- Evolve financial performance reporting, including:
- Design and implement reporting that delivers the necessary insights on Budget vs Actual (BvA) performance to help establish the appropriate actions to perform to Budget or growth / efficiency improvement levers
- Market, customer, and product level financial trend and insights, understanding the different financial profile of different offering types (Strategic Partnerships, Marketplace)
- Own certain relationships with GTM function leaders, acting as their key liaison on any topics related to costs (actuals and forecasting)
- Support execution of traditional FP&A cycles, including but not limited to Month-end Close, Annual Budgeting, and Quarterly Forecasting
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to advise on decisions that impact the financial outlook of the business, including but not limited to, new product launches, new Strategic Partnerships, and major capital investments
- Partner with systems focused teams (Corporate Data Office, Office of CIO) to automate and systemize any analytics or new models that are deemed vital to include in centralized reporting platforms (FP&A systems, 360 Insights)
- Identify and adopt AI use cases that will strengthen the quality and agility of planning and analyzing
- Work collaboratively with accounting during monthly / quarterly close cycles to ensure actuals are booked with accuracy, including maintaining accurate and up to date accruals
Required Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, Strategy, or teams with similar responsibilities. Experience in technology or SaaS industry revenue is preferred.
- Experience working with GTM functions (Sales, Professional Services, Customer Success, Customer Support, Marketing) is highly desirable
- Significant experience in designing and implementing with BI / visualization platforms, FP&A platforms (IBM planning & Analytics, Workday Adaptive), and advanced Excel functionality (Power Query, Power Pivot) is a key requirement
- Experience in adapting AI use cases is highly desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in business / finance / accounting-related field required
- Experience across entire lifecycle of building new tools or financial models, including ideation, design, implementation, and sustainability
- Proactive self-starter and teammate, ability to learn quickly, be adaptable to change and organizational landscape
- Analytical problem-solving skills, ability to contextualize data effectively and efficiently. Able to understand data models, in order to follow how data flows across systems, to achieve the desired accuracy in reporting.

$83,000 - $90,000 a year. At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The Canada base salary range for this position is $83,000 - $90,000 + bonus + benefits, non-overtime eligible. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and / or work location.
