Job Type: Full-Time Permanent, On-Site

This position is a new role and does not replace an existing vacancy.

Position Summary

Tourism Kingston is looking for a motivated and relationship-focused specialist to help grow sport tourism in Kingston. In this role, you’ll work with local organizations and partners to bring sporting events to the city, creating experiences that attract visitors and support the local economy. Reporting to the Managing Director of Sales, you’ll be involved in sales, community outreach, and event support, including attending meetings and planning sessions. The ideal candidate has knowledge of sport tourism and enjoys building partnerships. You’ll also help prepare bids, find new opportunities, and work with local, provincial, and national sport organizations. Flexibility to attend events outside regular business hours is required.

Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new sport event hosting opportunities and partnerships.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of leads through outreach and follow-up.
  • Track and share results like room nights, visitor numbers, and economic impact.
  • Stay up to date on sport tourism trends and opportunities at all levels.

Event Support & Coordination

  • Assist with planning and logistics for sport events hosted in Kingston.
  • Coordinate site visits and work with partners to ensure smooth execution.
  • Represent Tourism Kingston at meetings and events in a professional, positive way.

Grants, Bids & Proposals

  • Help create bid packages and respond to requests for information.
  • Work with partners to prepare and submit grant applications.

Budget & Targets

  • Support setting sales and revenue goals and help meet them.
  • Assist with managing budgets for sport tourism projects.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build strong relationships with local organizations, sport groups, and volunteers.
  • Provide support to the Sales Committee during quarterly meetings.
