Qualifications

  • 5-10 years experience in mining and/or processing plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop IT/OT operational strategy and roadmaps for various systems.
  • Align IT/OT initiatives with business strategies to maximize value.
  • Oversee OPEX/CAPEX planning and execution.
  • Act as a bridge between IT/OT and operations.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Specialist, Technology Planning & Strategy to join our Information Technology team in Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a permanent position, on Monday to Friday schedule, working a hybrid between the Sudbury office and a home office. There will be frequent visits to the Operations within the Sudbury area.

As a Specialist, Technology Planning & Strategy, you strategically align technology with business objectives in production, maintenance, and technical services. You drive digital transformation, streamline processes, and integrate IT/OT to deliver measurable results. The role also supports governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring IT maximizes value for Sudbury operations.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Strategic Alignment: Develop IT/OT operational strategy and roadmaps for systems like ERP, MES, PIMS, LIMS, Controls, Digitization, Analytics and Automation.
  • Value Delivery: Align IT/OT initiatives with business strategies to maximize value.
  • Budget Management: Oversee OPEX/CAPEX planning and execution.
  • IT/OT Integration: Act as a bridge between IT/OT and operations, understanding production, maintenance, and technical services.
  • Governance & Risk: Ensure alignment with strategic IT/OT plans, architecture, and governance; identify risks and implement preventive actions.
  • Digital Transformation: Drive adoption of technology to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and generate insights.
  • Business Process Optimization: Support development and transformation of business processes linked to IT/OT solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with client areas and embed within operations to understand strategy and challenges.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related fields.
