A leading professional services firm in Edmonton seeks a Tax Professional to manage tax planning and compliance needs for clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of public accounting experience and is in the process of obtaining their CPA. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Successfully passed the CFE, and has obtained or is in process of obtaining a CPA designation.
  • Currently enrolled in the In-Depth tax course or possess experience in restructuring or reorganization tax planning.

Overview

As part of the Private Enterprise Tax practice, you will excel in servicing the planning and compliance needs of our clients. This position provides the opportunity to participate in a broad range of tax-related work requiring qualitative and quantitative analysis and assessment. Periodic special projects and research will challenge you and allow you to grow, develop, and thrive as a tax professional.

What you will do
  • Research and analyze a wide variety of tax issues, including assistance with structuring domestic and international investments
  • Prepare corporate, partnership, trust, and personal tax returns
  • Prepare draft technical memos, instruction letters to legal counsel, and client reporting letters for senior staff review
  • Prepare income tax models
  • Review corporate and personal tax returns
  • Review tax provisions for larger audit and non-audit clients
  • Interact with clients and other team members
  • Assist senior staff members in all aspects of corporate tax initiatives
What you bring to the role
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a public accounting firm
  • Completed undergraduate degree is required
  • Successfully passed the CFE, and has obtained or is in process of obtaining a CPA designation
  • Currently enrolled in the In-Depth tax course or possess experience in restructuring and/or reorganization tax planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills
