Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a Software Developer to join our growing development teams in Toronto, Canada. You will work on civil engineering software, such as Autodesk Civil 3D, to help engineers to design and analyze the world's infrastructure. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about designing and developing high quality software solutions which may combine desktop applications, web clients and cloud services. You will have a significant impact on how we design, build, and deliver our products to millions of professionals. You will report to the Engineering Manager, and work in a cross-functional team focused on building and maintaining software for various products and components. You will work on a variety of unique challenges which give you the chance to learn modern technology and grow your skills.

This team works in a hybrid, flexible workplace model based in our Downtown Toronto office.

Responsibilities
  • Development and software architecture working with senior software engineers and architects across the product line group
  • Address complex engineering problems, while being aware of how to break them down in manageable work chunks
  • From time-to-time act as a feature champion and oversee its implementation within team
  • Prototype, implement, and maintain production software and software components
  • Perform regular code reviews
  • Support both manual and automated testing, with unit and integration test and develop scripts to support automation testing
  • Work with the Agile team at improving Quality Assurance processes and be an ambassador for quality
  • Collaborate within your team and with teams of engineers to design, plan, develop, refactor, test, deliver and maintain complex features within desktop applications, cloud services and desktop components
  • Work with the product owner, experience designer and product management teams to review and implement proposed designs
  • Being Agile and using LEAN methodology as an active member of a Scrum team
  • Collaborate using tools such as Git, JIRA, and wiki pages
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years' experience in Object Oriented Programming
  • Willingness to learn and master C++, if not already proficient
  • Experience in software development in a commercial setting in a scaled Scrum team scenario with several teams working on shared deliverables
  • Experience handling large scale code basis and refactoring
  • Passion to improve product quality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field. Master's degree is desirable
  • Experience with Git or similar source code revision control systems
  • Working Experience or educational background in AEC industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipeline and Test Automation
  • Familiarity with, or an interest in learning, React for UI development
  • Familiarity with C++ , React, Node, Typescript, C#, WPF, Docker, Python, AWS, Artifactory, CMake, Jenkins, Visual Studio

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $78,100 and $114,510. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
