Who we are looking for: We are seeking a Software Developer with strong programming skills and a passion for client‑facing support. This role blends software development, quality assurance, and technical support, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing our deployed solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Development of integrated frontend and backend interfaces.
- Conduct quality assurance testing against our NOMS and Cartograph software and identify software bugs, document and take corrective action where applicable.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance of our software solutions deployed at client sites including software updates, new application development, and support.
- Provide Tier3 support to our ISP clients and diagnose and resolve service‑impacting issues, with the understanding that at times this work may be required after regular business hours.
- Participate as a member of our team responding to customer support requirements during regular business hours between 9am – 5pm Eastern Monday - Friday and on a rotating afternoon shift between the hours of 12pm – 8pm Eastern Monday - Friday.
- Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule after‑hours.
- Provide training to clients in the use of software and applications.
- Provide software development support to Clearcable Systems Administrators related to Linux side scripting and programs.
- Create technical documents for new software programs.
- Provide assessment of work effort/hours for any custom development.
- Manage project timelines and tasks.
- Promote a positive attitude and provide guidance and motivation to the team.
What you Bring
- Experience with SOAP/XML and Netconf/YANG would be an asset.
- Experience with collecting data via SNMP.
- Experience with Git and/or other version control systems.
- Exposure to open-source applications and system administration setup and configuration.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple simultaneous tasks within a fast‑paced team.
- Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet dynamic customer demand and needs.
- Self‑motivated and detail oriented.
Education and Experience
- University, College, or technical school diploma.
- 1-3 years Software Development experience or equivalent.
