We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated on-site Social and Community Service Worker Instructor to guide and mentor students in our CSW program at our site in Courtenay, BC.

This role plays a vital part in preparing students to make a meaningful impact in their communities by equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the field of social and community support. Using provided curriculum and resources, you'll foster a supportive and practical learning environment.

This part time role offers up to 40 hours per week and has the potential to lead to future instructional opportunities, advancing your career in education.

Start date: Tuesday Feb 17, 2026

Rate Range: $31.00-$33.00/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday (9:00am to 3:30pm)

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct and facilitate student learning in classroom and practical settings using college-provided curriculum and materials
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans and learning activities aligned with course outcomes
  • Support and guide students in developing key community support skills and practices
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and evaluations
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Qualifications
  • A certificate related to Community Support Work
  • Group Home Experience is required
AND
  • At least 24 months of relevant occupational experience
OR
  • 10 years of related occupational experience
  • Prior teaching or mentoring experience
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Excel, etc.)
  • Willingness to support and motivate adult learners
