Purpose:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments of products. The position verifies and keeps records of shipments, prepares items for shipment, and receives and unpacks products.
Main Responsibilities:
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for maintaining receiving and shipping log, accurately placing all received stock at assigned location. Designating materials for customer orders and placing all materials specific to a job together.
The incumbent is also accountable for picking products, ensuring accuracy in quantity and type of product selected. They are responsible for expediting the orders to the customers or branches according to specified time commitments.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Operates a forklift to load and unload trucks and gather stock from the warehouse.
- Manually unloads multiple cartons and places cartons on pallets as requested. Cartons weigh up to 50lbs each.
- Utilizes courier companies for shipping and receiving orders.
- Receives all goods according to standard written procedures, recording all incoming shipments, checking shipments against purchase orders, and verifying contents of shipments against packing slips.
- Cover for the Planner position.
Key Interfaces
- Sorts products and places in designated stock locations in warehouse
- Maintains good housekeeping and orderliness in the dock and warehouse.
- Prepares packing slip facsimiles, freight claims and other internal receiving information completes internal customers’ orders.
- Selects urgent and immediate orders for customers.
- Packages material to protect fragile items and eliminate damage or breakage.
- Cleans and reorganizes warehouse. Takes physical inventory on rotating items per directions from supervisor.
- Stage products with packing slips, and box within designated shipping area
- Performs other duties as requested by the Supervisor or Plant Manager
- Reports any unsafe situation or acts to the plant management.
- Assists in the other areas of the plant according to the workload requirements.
- Maintains a positive environment within his colleagues and management.
- Creating a bill of lading for shipments and keeping other paperwork neat and organized to avoid future issues.
- Track and organize products and raw materials inventory.
Qualifications:
- Technic in Chemical engineering required(we will hire recently graduated).
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Planning experience or supply chain Management is a plus.
- Warehouse & Inventory Management experience is a plus.Mechanical aptitude, including ability to comprehend technical manuals and procedures.
- Proficient in the use of a calculator and mathematical procedures.
- Awareness of CGA and CSA standards is a plus.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be an excellent Team Player.
- Capacity to effectively plan work and handle changing priorities.
- Willingness to learn.
- Good computer skills required.
- Must be proficient in the English language (written and verbal both).
- Great communication skills.
Hourly Wage: $35.26/hour
