On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Service Technician in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Service Technician contributes to the team’s success and to customer satisfaction by ensuring equipment is functional and in great operational order. The Service Technician is a mechanically inclined individual with strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for installation and repair of rehab and home health care equipment.
  • Discussing equipment problems with operator to determine the nature of the malfunction.
  • Testing fault equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • Testing electronic components and circuits to locate defects, replace defective components, and adjust mechanical parts.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of service work performed.
  • Managing company assets effectively including parts inventory, tools, test equipment and business expenditures per company policy or procedure, as well as ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.
  • Attending training classes whether held on customer site, in house or at any other location determined by supervisor and/or management. Actively participate in personal upgrading in the form of continuing education and training to keep pace with advancing technology.
The Ideal Candidate Brings:
  • 2-3 years of related experience in repair of home health care products is preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical abilities.
  • Previous customer service and/or administrative experience would be considered an asset.
  • Clean Driver’s abstract is essential.
  • Familiarity with seating systems and rehabilitation products as well as knowledge of wheelchair/mobility product market and its suppliers would be considered an asset.
