A digital platform engineering company in Toronto is seeking a highly experienced Senior Transaction Reporting Business Analyst. This role leads compliance with transaction reporting regulations and works with various stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of reporting solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in business analysis, regulatory frameworks, and capital markets, with leadership skills. A competitive salary of CA$130,000 - CA$160,000 is offered.
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transaction Reporting Business Analyst with strong leadership skills to act as a Product Owner / Team Lead.
This role is central to driving compliance with global transaction reporting regulations, working closely with technology, regulatory change, and operations teams to deliver sustainable reporting solutions.
Responsibilities
Partner with business, technology, and regulatory stakeholders to evaluate and refine requirements from Federal authorities and DTCC
Analyze and translate regulatory requirements (CSA, SFTR, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, etc.) into clear technical deliverables
Simplify business/functional requirements into user stories for development teams
Conduct gap and feasibility analyses; recommend solutions, strategies, and priorities
Lead Agile delivery: manage product backlog, define priorities, and ensure user stories include clear acceptance criteria
Collaborate with developers, QA, and operations teams to clarify requirements, support BDD testing, and ensure comprehensive test coverage
Support UAT by providing test cases, scenarios, and expected results
Define and oversee data mapping, transformation logic, and business rules from source systems to reporting platforms
Requirements
Experience:
10+ years in Business Analysis, with strong exposure to transaction reporting and capital markets
Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks: CSA, SFTR, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, CFTC, ASIC
Proven track record working across technology, regulatory change management, and operations
Strong understanding of capital markets products: Equities, Fixed Income, OTC/ETD Derivatives, FX
Skills:
Leadership and stakeholder management expertise
Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle and derivatives
Advanced SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting
Ability to read and understand code (.NET, C#)
Familiarity with reporting schemas (XML, ISO 20022, FIX)
Hands-on experience with Agile delivery using Jira or Azure DevOps
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, IT, or related field (required)
Master’s degree preferred
Professional certifications (CFA, FRM, ICA) highly desirable
