The Senior Systems Analyst is accountable for managing the lifecycle of business systems tailored for a specific group of internal airport customers. This position demands a detailed exploration and understanding of these customers' unique business needs, alongside a rigorous assessment of technological solutions that adhere to architectural principles for system sustainability and performance. The Senior Systems Analyst is key in translating business processes and requirements into effective and efficient system designs. The Senior Systems Analyst ensures that the technological solutions provided align with the strategic objectives of the airport's various business units, supporting their optimal operation and facilitating future growth.

Day in The Life

You might be wondering what you can expect in a typical day at work. Every day will bring new opportunities, focusing on key responsibilities, including:

  • Analyze current systems and business processes to identify improvement opportunities, using process modeling and flowcharting to depict workflows and operations
  • Provide technical guidance on products and projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and adherence to best practices
  • Work with QA teams to define test scenarios, ensure all systems meet business and functional requirements, and participate in resolving issues during testing.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of system requirements, design specifications, and user manuals, ensuring clear communication of technical details.
  • Identify and resolve development and implementation issues, collaborating with stakeholders to address challenges
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform process improvements and system design
  • Assess and integrate third‑party solutions, coordinating with vendors for seamless system integration.
  • Develop detailed models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide development and implementation, ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Execute detailed test plans for both functional and performance aspects to ensure application reliability.
  • Provide high‑level troubleshooting for complex issues, going beyond first‑level support to address system performance and functionality problems.
  • Use feedback and incident analysis to drive system enhancements, optimizing for future scalability and performance.
  • Keep stakeholders and end‑users informed about system experiences, feedback, and updates, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
You Have:
Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or a closely related field
Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a Systems Analyst role, with a solid foundation in project management. This includes experience in designing, developing, and implementing software and hardware solutions.
  • Experience with delivering complex packaged solutions, including integration of data between systems, ideally in an airport or airline environment.
Competencies and Knowledge
  • Demonstrated proficiency in systems analysis techniques and methodologies, with the ability to understand and document comprehensive business requirements.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across various departments, contributing to a team‑oriented environment while also capable of working independently.
  • Basic project management capabilities, including task organization, timeline management, and participation in project planning.
  • A good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and its phases, ensuring effective management and implementation of technology solutions.
  • Knowledge of database systems, web technologies, and previous programming experience are highly regarded, enhancing the ability to propose and implement technology solutions for business process improvement.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, including the ability to present and negotiate effectively with vendors, senior management, and leadership. Excellent documentation skills are required, particularly in workflow documentation.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self‑motivated and directed.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation of requirements and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand complex business processes and systems and identify areas for improvement.

BAND: Pay Band 9

SALARY: $57.08 - $63.26 per hour
