Senior Software Developer

You’ll be responsible for:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that power our Portal UI application.
• Building and supporting resilient microservices and APIs that integrate with frontend components and external systems.
• Collaborating closely with frontend developers to ensure seamless data flow and performance across the stack.
• Contributing to backend architecture decisions, including service orchestration, data modeling, and security.
• Writing clean, maintainable code and producing detailed technical documentation.
• Supporting operations in diagnosing and resolving backend issues.
• Participating in rotating on‑call support when required.

You bring:

• A university degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years software development experience.
• Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full‑time capacity.
• Experience with REST API development and microservices architecture.
• Experience in Java application development using frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Experience in database design and development using relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle)
• Experience in application security such as authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices
• Experience in cloud technologies like AWS or Azure.
• Experience in containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS.
• Experience with event‑driven and messaging‑based architectures.
• Experience working in agile development environments and contributing to the full software delivery lifecycle.
