Senior Residential Construction Project Manager

We are seeking a Construction Project Coordinator/Assistant Project Manager with experience in all aspects of residential renovation and new wood-frame construction.
Responsibilities
- Ability to take a project from a vacant lot to a completed custom home (design drawings, quotation, supervise construction and landscaping)
- Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications
- Devise, enhance and communicate deliverable timelines; review project requirements, scope and resources to make accurate assessments based on contractual scope of work
- Manage and administer phases of projects for company records; follow up with subcontractors and clients to ensure project deliverables are completed on time
- Accurately manage and maintain employee and subcontractor hours; allocating personnel to appropriate job tasks
- Produce daily reports on site
- Regularly reconcile invoices and quotes from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring that all costs are within budget and is in the scope with agreements and contracts
- Prepare material purchase and change orders for subcontractors
- Perform field work at project sites as required by the Senior Project Manager and CEO
- Assist in evaluation and solution of potential field problems, referring them to the Senior Project Manager
- Provide assistance to other Team members as required
- Other duties as assigned within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management
Experience & Abilities (Minimum Qualifications)
- Completion of Civil Engineering Technician course, or equivalent, is required
- Civil engineering experience would be an asset
- Experience in residential interiors and exteriors in both renovations and new construction
- Experience in understanding scopes of work and ability to create & interpret construction working drawings
- Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in this field of expertise in the Canadian home construction environment is required
- Strong mathematical aptitude; problem solving skills; coordination & organization
- Familiar with legal requirements, especially Health & Safety to ensure compliance
- High proficiency in AutoCAD, a Microsoft environment, GIS and other relevant software programs
