In the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will join an established cost consulting team based in Western Canada. Our team provides services for projects across all provinces in Canada, including Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Governmental, Transportation, and Infrastructure sectors.

What you can expect to do here:

  1. Prepare quantities and cost estimates during concept and schematic design stages.
  2. Develop detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates from early design to tender and construction-ready drawings and specifications.
  3. Review contract documents to identify errors or ambiguities impacting estimates.
  4. Generate variance reports and assist in value engineering.
  5. Perform peer reviews of external estimates, providing recommendations.
  6. Support project teams with cost analysis for delay claims and change orders.
  7. Maintain current cost information using historical data, market research, and indices.

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • Educational background in construction technology, architecture, structural, or civil engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or related field, with professional registration (e.g., CIQS, RICS).
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in a consulting or contracting environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic measurement and estimating tools such as On-Screen Takeoff, RIB CostX, or similar, and familiarity with BIM models.
  • Experience with applying allowances, contingencies, and escalation in cost estimates.

Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $124,800 to $171,600

The final salary may vary based on education, experience, skills, location, and organizational needs. The posted range is subject to change.
