Job summary

The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in construction safety and holds a relevant certification. This role follows a rotational schedule of 10 days on, 4 days off, with camp accommodations provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in civil or industrial projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of FLRA, JSA, and other safety documentation protocols.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site-level safety programs and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA), Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
  • Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for new and existing employees.

Job description

We are currently seeking Senior Project Safety Advisor to join J.D. Irving’s Construction and Equipment Division to support a large-scale windfarm project based in West-Central New Brunswick. This opportunity follows a rotational schedule of 10 days on, 4 days off, with camp accommodations provided.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in civil or industrial projects.
  • Certification in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of FLRA, JSA, and other safety documentation protocols.
  • Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Responsibilities
  • Lead site-level safety programs and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA), Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
  • Perform daily visual observation and including monthly safety inspection.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for new and existing employees.
  • Assist in investigations of incidents and near-misses and manage corrective actions.
  • Entered incidents into a computer system.
  • Monitoring, developing, and communicating emergency response.
