Job summary

Senior Project Engineer

Remote Mine – British Columbia

4 days on, 3 days off

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for providing leadership and technical support for environmental assessment, permitting, remediation and water treatment projects and programs. This role will specifically be supporting a mining client in British Columbia and will require regular weekly travel to their site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction and leads the performance of environmental assessment, permitting, remediation and water management projects.
  • Provide senior engineering level support for the design, construction, and commissioning of water treatment, mine water management, remediation and reclamation projects.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive solutions to prevent delays and disruptions
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability, while leading change management initiatives for smooth transitions in processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Prepare study reports, engineering specifications, and contract documents.
  • Review project documents and drawings for technical quality and accuracy.
  • Prepare design work packages including scope, duration, and level of effort estimates.
  • Prepare signed/sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR)
  • Support other engineering projects as part of the Ensero Engineering Team.
  • Work in collaboration with the business development team to participate in client meetings, and in the development of project proposals for existing and future customers.
  • Build and maintain client relationships through ongoing communication and understanding of client goals.
  • Monitor and promote system environmental health and worker safety compliance.
  • Manage special projects that support the broad-based needs of a rapidly expanding company
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive culture by modeling company values, setting clear expectations, and developing an environment of trust, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Leads the development of technical deliverables and programs in area(s) of expertise.
  • Conducts senior reviews of technical deliverables and programs in area(s) of expertise.

About You
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Professional Engineering designation required.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in industrial water treatment projects, with at least 5 years in a senior role
  • Previous experience in an environmental consulting or engineering firm.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk management, implementing strategies to mitigate complex project risks effectively
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills to drive alignment and collaboration

$140,000 - $170,000 a year
