Job summary

An international automotive manufacturer in Windsor, Ontario, is seeking candidates for a role requiring a College Diploma and a minimum of 2 years in Engineering or Manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include coaching Manufacturing Work Groups, applying operating systems, and coordinating continuous improvement activities. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • College Diploma. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering or Manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership.
  • Availability to work in shifts (morning/afternoon/evening).

Preferred Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Engine experience preferred: Prior experience in engine manufacturing, assembly, or related engineering.
  • Safety and Quality experience preferred: Experience implementing and maintaining safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Constraint Management principles.
  • Proven proficiency in analytical and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Six Sigma, root cause analysis), with a track record of resolving complex operational issues.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Coaching and Support: Coach and support Manufacturing Work Groups (MWG).
  • System Application: Understand and consistently apply standard manufacturing operating systems.
  • Countermeasure Support: Support Work Groups for short-term and long-term countermeasures of all abnormalities.
  • Operational Validation: Validate and bridge operational needs as required to ensure the production line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts.
  • Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) Coordination: Strategically plan and coordinate Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) activities to achieve Safety, Quality, and Productivity objectives.
  • Communication and Recognition: Foster effective communication and recognition.
  • Capability Building: Build Team Leader and Team Member capability.
  • Work Environment Creation: Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate maintenance activities, prioritizing resources to ensure safety and quality.
