Job Title: Senior Payroll Administrator

Overview

Seeking an experienced payroll professional to lead timely, accurate payroll processing across multiple provinces and business lines. This role supports payroll policy development, drives process improvements, and resolves complex payroll issues. Ideal for someone detail-oriented, collaborative, and service-focused.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee bi-weekly/weekly payroll cycles and audits.
  • Review payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and manage off-cycle requests, ROEs, and manual adjustments.
  • Prepare and post payroll journal entries, support GL and reconciliation activities.
  • Audit timesheets, reconcile system variances, and ensure legislative compliance.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries; partner closely with HR to resolve data issues.
  • Prepare payroll reports, lead quarter-end and year-end tasks, and support reconciliations (WCB, EHT, etc.).
  • Support system updates, new pay codes, wage adjustments, and policy implementations.
  • Lead audit deliverables, maintain training materials, and mentor junior team members.
  • Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
What You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience.
  • PCP designation required.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (Dayforce experience is an asset).
  • Deep understanding of payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and coach others.
  • Proactive, analytical, and detail-driven.

Rate: $40/hr. CAD
