Job summary

A healthcare organization in Central Ontario is seeking a Senior Mammography Medical Radiation Technologist. In this full-time role, you will provide expertise within the Mammography department, ensuring effective daily operations. Candidates must have current CMRITO registration and at least five years of Breast Imaging experience. This position requires flexibility for day, evening, and night shifts along with weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered in good standing with CMRITO.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Completion of Breast Imaging courses is required.

Overview

Senior Mammography Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) at Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) works as a member of the interdisciplinary team, providing professional expertise and is responsible for the efficient and effective day-to-day functions of the Mammography department.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional expertise as part of the Mammography team and support the day-to-day operations of the department.
Qualifications
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Canada (CMRITO).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Successful completion of Breast Imaging I and Breast Imaging II.
  • Certificate in Breast Imaging preferred.
  • Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists / Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (CAMRT / OAMRS) preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Breast Imaging.
  • Leadership experience is an asset.
Skills / Abilities
  • Computer experience in a Windows environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, patients and the public.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Positive work record and good attendance.
  • Position involves patient transport and pushing / pulling mobile equipment.

In addition, the successful candidate must be available to work day, evening and night shifts, along with weekends and statutory holidays. An ability to attend work on a consistent basis is also a requirement.
