Overview
The Ophthalmology Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans to drive brand awareness, market share, and business growth. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Corporate Accounts to align with Biocon Biologics commercial objectives. The position reports to the Franchise Head of Ophthalmology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement brand marketing strategies for the Ophthalmology portfolio.
- Lead the execution of product launch plans, brand positioning, and messaging across all key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Sales, Market Access, and Medical Affairs to develop promotional materials and engagement strategies.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Drive the execution of multichannel marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, and field engagement initiatives.
Brand and Customer Engagement
- Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers (HCPs), and industry stakeholders to enhance brand credibility.
- Lead the development and execution of medical conferences, symposia, and customer engagement events.
- Ensure alignment between marketing campaigns and customer needs in the ophthalmology market.
Field Team Support
- Develop and execute marketing tools, training materials, and sales aids to support field teams.
- Work closely with the Sales team to align marketing strategies with field execution.
- Conduct regular market and customer insights research to refine commercial strategies.
Performance Measurement & Customer Insights
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of marketing initiatives.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify opportunities for growth.
- Utilize data-driven insights to optimize marketing campaigns and brand positioning.
Qualifications
7+ years of marketing experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries. Ophthalmology experience is a strong asset, with a track record of launching new products and developing markets. Demonstrated expertise in biosimilars, biologics, or specialty pharmaceuticals is highly desirable. Proven success in managing stakeholder relationships, developing growth strategies, and executing new product launches.

- Deep understanding of the Canadian healthcare landscape, including regulatory, market access, and payer environments.
- Proficiency in financial planning, forecasting, business modeling and performance tracking.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly adaptable and capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the ophthalmology market and competitive landscape.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees (MBA, MPH) or certifications in project management are an asset.
Location and Travel
- Location: Canada
- Salary: CA$80,000 - CA$90,000 per year
- Travel: Up to 30% travel within Canada and internationally, as required.
